I was able to go to my first Washington State University football game! The Cougars played against the University of Hawaii in Seattle at Quest Field. Bryan scored J and I free tickets to sit in the student section. The weather was great and it was so much fun going to a college footall game! GO COUGS!

Sorry folk's I have been completely out of the blogging world lately and realized that I have not posted the last months of fun summer happening's! I hope you enjoy scrolling through what I have been up to!

August brought us to Deception Pass for our yearly camping trip with a bunch of family friends. We only spent one night camping this year but still enjoyed our quick overnighter!

We went to the Evergreen State Fair with John and his family. This is an annual tradition that they have been doing since John was a baby. We did not have to much of a crowd to deal with, a little rainy weather, but it was a fun night; and I was able to get an Elephant Ear!

Jen was able to score us some GREAT box seats at the Mariner's game. It was a fun night spent with friends and watching some baseball!

I hope all of my friends and family had a great and memorable summer! Now let's fall in to Fall.

Jen and Hallie had brilliant idea's to take advantage of the Ballard waterfront house and have a Slip 'N Slide party! About 25 of our friends headed out for this enjoyable party which was an absolute blast. The Slip 'N Slider participants impressed everyone with their skills, they found every possible way to make their "slide" the best by using plastic bags and of course eco friendly soap. Shamu, the giant whale was even used for the adventure! The weather was great and the entertainment couldn't of been any better!

Stay Hydrated Seattle

I am a true, decicated, obsessed, in love fan of the sun and hot, hot, weather... but my gosh Seattle what is up with your forecast. Remeber we are not a state that prepares for crazy snow storms like we had this past winter and we are definately not ready for a heat wave like we are having right now. Our non-air conditioned homes are never ready for this kind of heat, and its scary to say we will probably have much, much more of this to come... its not even August yet! Stay cool, drink lots of water and if you are able to stand the heat for a little while..lay out and get a tan because this sunshine is not going away!

What a beautiful wedding J and I attended Sunday night to celebrate the marriage between two amazing, giving people. Shauna- my old manager from the HW pool- married Johannes- a man from Germany, she met in Australia doing mission work- at The Lakeside Event Center on Lake Union. The venue was so pretty and you could just feel the happiness radiate off of everyone sharing this special moment with them. Congratulations Shuana and Joannes!

4th of July Weekend

I had such a fun, long, three day weekend. John had his good friend Joe in town so we were able to do lots of fun things with him as well as accompany us to my aunt and uncles to celebrate the 4th! As always, the Rose family put an excellent fire work show!

On Sunday, J and I were able to go on a little hike around St. Edwards Park. It was hot and humid but we were able to enjoy being outside!

The boat has docked, the last of the alcohol finished and the sweet smells of sunscreen slowly fade away but one thing that remains in tact is the memories from my family vacation to Mexico. We set sail on June 21st and enjoyed a relaxing 7 nights at sea and stopped in Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Ensenada Mexico. All these stops were so different than the one another but each had many highlights. The food on the food, entertainment and boat were so amazing! I cannot wait to go on another cruise! Thank you Mom and Dad for this great vacation!

The nice weather continued to delight us this weekend. We made a trip out to Sultan on Saturday to go to a birthday party. There was plenty of property to explore which was fun to do, minus the allergy attack and getting stung by nettles! I was able to snap a few neat pictures on our walk to the river!

What a busy weekend I had. Luckily all of my "being busy" consisted of doing things that were enjoyable and were spent being with the people I love most!

My dear friend Nicole's sister Dani went to her senior prom. I was able to stop by and get a few pictures of her before she left for the dance. She looked absolutely amazing. I was glad I was able to see her. After capturing a few shots of Dani I headed off to our church to help John's parents caterer our 1950's themed auction. It was lots of work but it was a lot of fun as well!

Sunday was spent in Seattle at the Mariner's game with my parents. I think we were more intrigued with the woman in front of us dancing and chanting during the game. We still can't figure out where she got her pants??!?!?!

~Memorial Day Weekend~

Three day weekends are just perfect; especially when you trek over to Eastern Washington and enjoy some 90 degree weather. My weekend was spent in Ephrata, WA camping. I was accompanied by John and my parents, Bryan was even able to make it over one night too!

Vantage was looking its best which made the drive over so beautiful.

We spend 2 nights in this big 'ol honkin tent. It was to hot to be in during the day, and when night time came.. well that was a different story. The wind was incredible. I felt like I was laying in the middle of a hurricane/tornado/wind storm. It made sleeping tough..

The campground was so pretty. Since it was Memorial Day Weekend they opened up a grass lot next to the campground so it felt like we were camping in our backyard. This campground was a blast. There was a lake, golf course, mini golf course and a pool.

Saturday was spent at the Moses Lake Aquatic Center. We layed by the pool, ate lunch and spent a lot of time floating down the lazy river and going on the water slides.

While Mom and I spent time preparing dinner and drinks The weekend was a blast. We ended it by spending Sunday afternoon in Kennewick with John's side of the family. It was nice to see everyone and catch up for a few hours.

I am very happy and blsessed that all of my friends and family that traveled this past weekend made it home safely! I hope I get to spend my next Memorial Day Weekend playing in Eastern Wahington!

::Mariner's vs. Boston::

What perfect weather we had for a evening baseball game on Saturday, we did not even put our jackets on! The Mariner's took on John's favorite team, the Boston Red Sox in a 3 game series this past weekend. The Mariner's lost 5-3; but John being the die hard Red Sox fan he is, was thrilled! ***Despite the shirt I am wearing in the pictures below, I am still a Seattle Mariner fan and root for my home team!***

Last night I met Anita. Anita Goodman. My eyes last night were opened up to Seattle's finest drag queens; Anita, Cassie and friends. My Mom and her friends meet up once a month in Seattle to see what Anita Goodman is up to at her monthly "Anita Goodman Experience" performances. It was tasteful, hilarious and I cannot wait until the next one!

Mother's Day Run!

What a fun way to start off Mother's Day! The whole family headed down to Kirkland to watch Mom run her first 5k. She did much better then she expected and in my eyes did such a fantastic job. She accomplished her goal, finished the race and beat the 6year old that was running! She even got to see me wearing a hot pink I Love Mom shirt!

John and I went to the Zoo on Saturday! It was a beautiful day and we thought it would be fun to walk around the Zoo and check out the new penguin exhibit. Little did we know, it was "Mom and Me Day at the Zoo". We had to fight the thousands of mom's and their children running around the zoo in their matching t-shirts yelling and screaming but we had a ton of fun anyways! The animals were all out and I got to see my favorite's; elephants and giraffes!

I am blessed with the life I have; but one of my biggest blessings is my Mom, and the relationship we have. My Mom has always been someone I could go to when I needed encouragement, a shoulder to cry on, someone to laugh with and someone to confide in. I know I do not what my life would be like without her. Happy Mothers Day, to a well deserved mother, wife, sister, aunt and most of all friend!

My favorite mommy memory will always be our late night talks.. Some of the best conversations we have ever had were when the "men of the house" were asleep! We would yell room to room having a conversation or I would sit in my parents bedroom on the floor talking all night long..Love you Mom!

Summer is near; which means yummy fruit is in the forecast! I love the amazing taste of of a good peice of fruit on a hot summer day! Watermelon especially. Remember last week when I was baking a Cinco De Mayo themed cake. Well the cake tasted just fabulous but my decorating skills... well, lets just same I am no Betty Crocker. The idea of what I wanted it took look like did not quite look the same on the actual cake so after a number of "re-dos" I gave up and just sprinkled M&M's all over it! I had to add my last finishing touch with the letter "B" in the left hand corner so we could celebrate my brother's birthday as well!

While we are on the subject of cake, my mom made the most tastey caske ever for Bryan's birthday! This mint chocolate chip cake was so tastey!

Guilty Pleasure

One of the best aspects of my job is the location. My favorite thing to do on my hour lunch break is going on walks. I am in a prime location in Kirkland to walk along the waterfront and have the most spectacular view while I am out and about. Whether it be sunny, cloudy, hot or cold my walks always clear my mind and give me a little bit of exercise before I head back to the office.

The biggest struggle of my job is the fact that I sit at a desk all day long. My walks make it a little easier to get through my day!

The best part of Mac computers is their Photo Booth application. This fun little Microsoft extra allows you to take pictures of yourself look absolutely hilarious. There are many choices of picture quality to choose from such as; black and white, sepia, comic, colored pencil and much more! Then the fun part.. you can choose to basically transform your face with features such as bulging, denting, twirling or squeezing! J and I have had countless night's where we have laughed endlessly because of the "product" of our photo session!

Let me start out first by saying how amazing my dad is. He came over to our apartment on Saturday and shampooed our very much needed carpets. So for the fee of one Vanilla Bean Frapacinno from Starbucks he was ready to go! He even offered to do it again, how lucky are we. Thank you Dad!

We now have a new rule which we hope you will glady obey. NO SHOES. Please take them off when you come inside our lovely little place. White carpets and shoes do not mix well together and we want to prolong the soft white color of our carpet as long as possible. Thank you!

On Sunday, our newly cleaned carpet motivated us to dust the entire apartment and do loads and loads of laundry. It feels so nice to begin the week surrounding myself with not only cleanliness but some sun as well!

What a fun filled weekend I had! The highlight was sure to be Nan and Steve's beautiful wedding. The wedding was on the Skansonia Ferry Boat in Seattle. This stationary boat was so gorgeous, unique and antique looking inside. Every detail was so nice and the wedding was just amazing. The weather could not have been better, I am so thrilled for Nan and Steve. Congratulations to you both!

John, Jen, Chris and I- the fabulous 4- trekked to Seattle together for the wedding. We met up with about 14 members of our church and shared great laughs, drinks, pictures and dances together. The cupcakes were a hit, no one fell in to Lake Union, Mary and John made a friend; a goose, the flower arrangements were perfect and we even managed to have enough TP to decorate the newlyweds house!

Despite the broken door, broken champagne glass and broken chair we successfully managed to have a great time and not get kicked out of the wedding!

Today, the Mariners play their first home game of the season at Safeco Field. I am very excited to go to Mariner games this season with my friends and family. J and I celebrate our Lenten "No Meat Fridays" at Spuds in Juanita. Today marks our last dinner at Spuds during Lent. We just love this little tradition that we have started the past two years. The food is good, the company is great and we just have so much fun together. It is a great way to unwind from a busy week at a place like Spuds.

We love the three piece halibut- we share- and get some ketchup and tarter and lifes good!

Spuds also helped me discover my new love for tarter sauce.

A receptionist position just opened up at my work and we posted an ad on craiglist for applicants. The job is very entry level, no legal background knowledge necessary, and pays pretty low. It is the perfect job for a college student that is looking for part time hours.

The job advertisement was posted this morning around 9:00 and we have already received 152 legitimate applications for jobs. Many of these people are willing to commute an hour for work, and have many years of professional work and education experience.

It is so sad that so many people are in desperate need of work in this economy they will settle for lower paid and qualified jobs just to be employed.

I keep you, your family member and friends in my prayers that you maintain job security or if you are unemployed and searching for a job you find something that fits your lifestyle.

If you know me you know my love for Britney Spears. Her Circus concert tour stops in Washington tonight and I am not going. Spending $75.00 for a ticket was a little out of the budget this year making this my first missed Britney Spears concert. Dang.

I called (stalked/harassed) 100.7 the Wolf this morning trying to win tickets. They were looking for caller #25 and I just happened to be caller #24. They had me hold just in case number #25 got disconnected. Well... so it be, caller #25 won and I am still empty handed.

The Giving Tree

A long time ago, there was a huge apple tree. A little boy loved to come and play around it everyday. He climbed to the tree top, ate the apples, took a nap under the shadow. He loved the tree and the tree loved to play with him.

Time went by. The little boy had grown up and he no longer played around the tree everyday. One day, the boy came back to the tree and he looked sad

"Come and play with me," the tree asked the boy.

"I am no longer a kid, I don't play around trees anymore." The boy replied, "I want toys. I need money to buy them."

"Sorry, but I don't have money. But you can pick all my apples and sell them. So, you will have money." The boy was so excited. He grabbed all the apples on the tree and left happily.

The boy never came back after he picked the apples. The tree was sad.

One day, the boy returned and the tree was so excited. "Come and play with me" the tree said.

"I don't have time to play. I have to work for family. We need a house for shelter. Can you help me?"

"Sorry, but I don't have a house. But you can chop off my branches to build your house."

So the boy cut all the branches of the tree and left happily. The tree was glad to see him happy but the boy never came back since then. The tree was again lonely and sad.

One hot summer day, the boy returned and the tree was delighted. "Come and play with me!" the tree said.

The boy said, "I am sad and getting old. I want to go sailing to relax myself. Can you give me a boat?"

"Use my truck to build your boat. You can sail far away and be happy."

So the boy cut the tree truck to make a boat. He went sailing and never showed up for a long time.

Finally, the boy returned after he left for so many years. "Sorry, my boy. But I don't have anything for you anymore. No more apples for you." the tree said.

"I don't have teeth to bite" the boy replied.

"No more truck for you to climb on"

"I am too old for that now" the boy said.

"I really can't give you anything. The only thing left is my dying roots." the tree said with tears.

"I don't need much now, just a place to rest. I am tired after all these years." the boy replied.

"Good! Old tree roots is the best place to lean on and rest. Come, come sit down with me and rest."

The boy sat down and the tree was glad and smiled with tears.

Finally, we have reached the highly anticipated Friday! The beginning of the beautiful weekend. I have lots of little things going on this weekend, one including unpacking from our trip. It kinda took us a while to do that one.. Other then that I am going to enjoy some Seattle sun.

Last summer J and I invested in some tennis rackets. We used them once. Had fun. Ran around like crazy people chasing after a ball. My racket is pink! This year we are going to start our training early... Spring is here therefore we are going to play tennis! Wish us luck!

J and I made it back safe and sound to good 'ol rainy Washington. Vegas was absolutely amazing.. beautiful sights, perfect weather and I could not ask for someone more perfect to be on vacation with!

With that said, the conversation we had the most with fellow vacationers, taxi drivers, hotel workers.. you name it was:

Thank you for finally arriving. The long, cold, dreary months of winter are now behind us (hopefully). With that said, I have some expectations of what I would like you to do until June 4th, which is the beginning of summer.

"April showers, bring May flowers." A quote known by all, but please don't let it come true. Instead we should change it to "April sun, brings May fun."

Please have the tulip field's be in full bloom when I go on my tulip festival adventure this April.

If you are going to rain, rain at night. I know pretty plants and flower need your rain but sunny mornings make my day so much happier.

How nice would it be to get a bouquet of flowers (preferably tulips or daffodils) every week during your time here?

Please give us some nice Easter weather. Easter egg hunts are so much more fun when it's not raining and there is no mud. (Our egg hunt last year was cancelled due to your horrible weather).

That should do for now. Please try your hardest to fufill my wish list.

Today, the 147 year old newspaper delivered its last issue of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer in "hard copy" form. To access the news from now on you will need to go to their website. This popular newspaper reminds me of my high school days. My parents would subscribe to the paper during the high school sports season's my brother and I were involved in. We would read and follow our high school and local high school's in our division to see what the competition was and results of different sporting events. My name was even published in the paper for my swimming accomplishments!

The Countdown Begins

The vacation bug has hit me. I can finally say next week J and I will be traveling to Las Vegas to clebebrate his 25th birthday. My new obsession: checking the weather multiple times a day because the 10 day forecast actually matters to our vacation now. So far we are at 75 and baby blue skies, how perfect! Las Vegas, we'll be seeing you soon!

Diana comes to Seattle

Our friend Diana was in town this weekend for the Esperanza dinner at our church (which was a success, $25,000 raised!!) We had a a very busy weekend and every time Diana comes to visit she falls in love with Washington more and more! Our weekend started off with a entertaining tour at Redhook Brewery in Woodinville. It is a $1.00 tour, lots of beer and you get a Redhook souvenir glass to take home.. what a steal!

Diana was able to experience a true Seattle weekend. Rain, sun, snow and obviously wind!

Before Diana left we had everyone over for breakfast at our apartment. Overall we had a great weekend full of good laughs, friends and good times. We were sad to see Diana go. Come visit soon!Bryan and Diana

Welcome family and friends! After months of contemplating on whether or not to start a blog, I have finally decided to go for it. Since I spend an endless amount of time on the computer during my work day I decided this would be fun and a way for others to know what is going on in my life.
